What is an intervention?
When an individual has a drug or alcohol problem, often they will not seek out treatment on their own. In fact, most people engaged in addictive behavior will rarely admit that they even have a problem.
The goal of an intervention is to get the individual to admit they have a problem, and get them enrolled in a treatment program that will help them break free of their addiction. That puts the responsibility in the hands of friends and family to insure that the individual gets the help that they need.
Don't go through intervention alone
It is important, however, that concerned family and friends do not simply barrel willy-nilly into an intervention. Interventions are generally confrontational, emotional and "dicey". This is a job for a trained professional. An Interventionist carefully preps loved ones with time-tested tools necessary to insure the success of the experience and the safety of all. The goal is to get the addict/alcoholic, in the throes of his or her addiction, to treatment as soon as possible. This will take tough love, leveraging, and a well thought through treatment plan.
Recovery Advocates can help
Recovery Advocates can help you hold a safe, productive intervention for a friend, loved one or co-worker. The experts at Recovery Advocates will work with all parties to make sure that everything flows properly in a results-oriented, non-confrontational manner.

At Recovery Advocates, our philosophy centers around several key beliefs about research, treatment and the importance of the individual:
-
We believe in good science, science offering quantifiable and measurable results, and in efficacy in the battle against substance abuse and mental illness
-
We believe in ongoing research and the comprehensive study of the brain, how it functions and how the application of developmental techniques can improve the quality of life
-
We believe in integrated care, leveraging the expertise of professionals from a variety of different backgrounds to provide comprehensive treatment for all our patients
-
We believe that no two patients are alike, and as such have developed customized strategies to help each individual overcome the issues that are keeping them from enjoying healthy, fulfilling lives
-
We believe in education; providing all our patients with the opportunity to learn new, creative skills while they are in our care so that they can re-enter a world of limitless possibilities

The journey of a recovering addict does not end with the completion of the treatment program. Instead, individuals are faced with a new set of challenges including distractions, temptations and transitions.
At Recovery Advocates we're there to completely support our patients...even after treatment has concluded.
Following the initial treatment period, patients are offered a medically supervised relapse prevention program personally designed for one year.

Outpatient substance abuse treatment from Recovery Advocates
Recovery Advocates also offers a medically based outpatient substance abuse program and a better quality of care found at most residential treatment centers. In addition, our program offers treatment without confinement to a facility or hospital. R.A. patients can return to their work and their lives as they continue treatment. It is no longer necessary to stop your life in order to save it.
Outpatient care is also more cost effective than inpatient rehab. No money is spent on a view of the beach or on the thread count of expensive sheets. Every patient dollar goes towards treatment.
More important, in many cases inpatient treatment simply doesn't work; it represents a limited model for substance abuse care. Eighty-five per cent (85%) of patients relapse after discharge from residential treatment. If we lived in treatment centers all our lives it would make sense to approach addition this way. But we don't. Outpatient treatment emphasizes creating a support system in the life you are living, with the stressors of your work, relationships, and family. Recovery Advocates specializes in creating strategies for long term recovery while you live YOUR life.
Customized outpatient care
Our outpatient program is tailored to the needs of individuals. This is not cookie-cutter care. No one program will fit everyone. Recovery Advocates will help develop a program designed to fit you. Inpatient, if a given program or health care practitioner doesn't work for you - you are stuck. If one treatment modality isn't working, we adjust the care accordingly. Our treatment program is dynamic - it's a process, flexible - common sense.
